In case you didn’t know, I am a HUGE Sailor Moon fan. In fact if you watch my YouTube Makeup videos you will know that I made an eyeshadow look “inspired” by every Sailor Senshi. Of course, that was a while ago.
Last year was the 20th anniversary of the original Sailor Moon anime and it was then that Toei announced that they were making a NEW Sailor Moon anime. Of course, this anime was supposed to come out late last year, but due to production issues, the release was postponed for this year instead.
After over a year of waiting the wait is almost over!
I have always wanted a silver nail polish that wasn’t just shiny, but straight metallic. Like liquid metal on my nails. I’ve seen nail strips that give that perfect metallic finish, but I’m not a fan of strips, and I wanted the same effect, but in a polish. A few weeks ago I was in a Walgreens when I saw Essie’s No Place Like Chrome nail polish, and I had to have it.
My favorite matte lipstick would have to be the Wet n’ Wild Mega Last Lip Colors. They’re found in any local drugstore, but in my honest opinion feel even nicer then a lot of high-end matte lipsticks I’ve tried. Wet n’ Wild describes them as being semi-matte but in my experience after about 10-20 minutes of wear the shine eventually fades and you’re left with a perfectly smooth matte finish. I originally reviewed these lipsticks about 3 years ago.
Well actually it was my outfit for Saturday and my manicure from the week before but I’ve been a bit busy and blogging had to take a back seat.
Now normally (99% of the time) I’m a jeans, band/fantasy t-shirt, and Dr. Martins boots sort of woman. There are probably only 3-4 occasions in a year where I actually have a worthy occasion to “dress up.” These occasions may be rare but I figured I’d share them here as I have so few opportunities to discuss style.
This Saturday Dickie and I went to another Art Walk. We participate in Art Walks about half a dozen times a year and Art Walks tend to draw a very diverse crowed. There are people dressed casual, funky, punky, goth, dressed up in suits and gowns, or dressed in sexy club-wear. I’ve seen people paint there faces. I’ve seen people wear straight-up costumes. Anything goes at Art Walks, at least where I go, usually. Often I go casual but sometimes I dress up just because there are a few nice things I like to take out of my closet on occasion.
Since Dickie and I moved, I haven’t had as many opportunities to wear my over-the-top-drag-queen-style eyeshadow as I’d like. Which is depressing – BUT – I did get to wear a full face of makeup for a couple days, at least, and so I decided to share the look I wore this Saturday.
